Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has delivered six boxes of the 2022 Primary Leaving Examination materials to Kotido district.

The materials were delivered at around 1:30 pm by a military helicopter. District and municipal education authorities and security personnel received the materials at Lomukura primary school.

Joseph Orisa, the information officer for Kotido district confirmed that they received the first consignment of examination papers on Friday.

He said after the UPDF chopper delivered the materials, a security team led by the resident district commissioner distributed them to different police stations where the school heads will pick them from. He explained that the PLE papers were delivered using a UPDF helicopter because of the unpredictable insecurity in the region and the long distance.

Orisa urged the parents to support their children and ensure that they don’t miss out on the exams.

Denis Okengo, the Municipal Inspector of schools while receiving the materials said that 2 boxes of the examination materials will be taken to Kacheri center, while 4 boxes will remain at the main center.

He said about 904 pupils across the district and municipality have been briefed today and ready to sit for their exams which start on Tuesday.

According to Okengo the education authorities have already secured vehicles to help distribute the examination materials.

Lobur Elijah Lokoribok, the Rengen sub county LC3 chairperson and Nouri Ashraf Teko, the Rengen sub county LC5 councilor during a courtesy visit to Rengen primary school on Monday asked candidates to desist from acts that may make them miss exams.

According to the PLE roadmap released by UNEB, pupils will begin exams on November 8th, 2022 with Mathematics in the morning and Social Studies in the afternoon. On November 9th, 2022 the pupils will conclude their exams with Science in the morning and English in the afternoon.
