Joint security forces are currently on a manhunt for suspected armed Karamojong warriors responsible for a fatal attack in Lotisan Sub-county, Moroto district.

The incident occurred on Sunday morning when six armed warriors abducted two women, Komowa Lote and her mother-in-law Otiama Nause, both residents of Naniman village in Lotisan sub-county, while they were gathering white ants nearby.

Upon learning of the abduction, Komowa Lote’s husband, Okwii Lochomen, rushed to the scene to rescue them but tragically, he was shot dead by the assailants.

A murder case has been registered at Rupa police station, and a hunt for the perpetrators is underway.

Longole disclosed that one suspect, identified as Lomonyang Apa Lonyang, has been apprehended to aid in the ongoing investigations.

Expressing regret over the incident, Longole assured the public of the joint security forces’ commitment to apprehending all individuals involved in the murder.

“As joint security forces, we regret this unfortunate incident we pledge our commitment to follow up this matter until we arrest all the key suspects who are involved in this murder,” Longole said.

He urged the public to remain calm and allow the authorities to conclude the investigation and bring the culprits to justice.
