Journalist Jjengo Eria, who works with BaBa Television, has been reported missing, prompting concern among his colleagues, family and management.

According to his colleagues, Eria left the television station at around 11am on Thursday, reportedly to buy snacks for breakfast, but did not return to the workplace.

His colleagues became concerned several hours later after noticing that some of his personal belongings were still on his desk. Attempts to reach him on his mobile phones were unsuccessful, with the phones reportedly unreachable.

“We became concerned at around 8pm when we realised that his belongings were still on his desk. We tried to reach him on his phones, but they were out of reach,” one of his colleagues said.

The station says its CCTV footage captured Eria leaving the workplace.
Management and his family have since contacted relevant security agencies in an effort to establish his whereabouts.

According to colleagues, some security agencies contacted have indicated that Eria is not in their custody.

BaBa Television has also reported a missing person case at Kira Road Police Station and says efforts are ongoing to locate him.

The station has appealed to anyone who may have seen Eria or has information that could help establish his whereabouts to contact the management or the relevant authorities.
