Ethiopia’s Ambassador to Uganda, H.E. Etsegenet Bezabih Yimenu, has held bilateral talks with Uganda’s Vice President, H.E. Jessica Alupo, focusing on strengthening cultural ties and people-to-people relations between the two countries.
The Ambassador met Vice President Alupo on Thursday, accompanied by Ethiopian religious fathers. The discussions also covered matters concerning the Ethiopian East African Dioceses.
In a message following the meeting, Ambassador Etsegenet described her engagement with the Vice President as fruitful, noting the importance of continued cooperation between Ethiopia and Uganda.
The meeting also coincided with the eve of the Ethiopian New Year. On the 5th day of Pagume, 2018, the Ambassador and her delegation presented Vice President Alupo with a traditional Ethiopian gift package carried in a traditional basket.
Ethiopia will usher in New Year 2019 today, September 11, with Vice President Alupo extending warm New Year wishes to the Ethiopian community.
The engagement comes as Ethiopia and Uganda continue to strengthen their longstanding bilateral relations through diplomatic, cultural and people-to-people exchanges.
