Police in Nakasongola District are investigating a suicide allegedly committed by a man amid a marital dispute.

The deceased, Kayongo James, 32, is from Kyabisire village in Lwampanga Sub-County.

According to Savannah Regional Police spokesman Sam Twiineamazima, the victim was discovered on Saturday hanging from a tree in his garden by Kyabisire LC 1 chairman Edward Kamya.

Kamya then reported the incident to the Lwampanga Police Station. According to authorities, the deceased had a long history of domestic violence against his wife and had threatened suicide after accusing her of being in love with a pastor.

According to Police, the victim’s attempt to dissuade her from going to the church was unsuccessful, so he chose death by hanging. Twiineamazima says Police arrived quickly after getting the information.

A white rope and shoes were among the exhibits found at the scene. The postmortem was performed, and the body was handed over to family members for burial.
