Police in Busoga East are investigating the circumstances leading to the death of one Grace Mutadhuba, who was found dead in Nakavule lodge, in Iganga municipality.
Mutadhuba was an enforcement officer attached to the Iganga Municipal Council. It is said that the late was last seen with an unidentified female companion outside Nakavule lodge.
The female companion reportedly enquired about the location of any mobile money transaction outlet before quietly fleeing to an unidentified location. While clearing the rooms, a staff member whose name has been withheld noticed that one of the rooms was locked from the outside, raising suspicion that the occupant might have left in the wee hours of Thursday morning.
He opened the door and noticed a male occupant lying on the bed, yet he declined to respond, despite endless calls.Suspecting that the male occupant might have turned unresponsive, the staff notified her colleagues, some of whom claimed that he was already dead.
They then informed the police, who cordoned off the lodge, examined the male occupant, and confirmed his death.Mutadhuba’s body was removed and taken to Iganga general hospital mortuary, awaiting postmortem.
Azalia Mukose says that his neighbour never returned home yesterday, with his calls going unanswered, and they resolved to inform the police about the incident. Mukose says that, while at the police station, they were informed about the lifeless body of an unidentified man, and they rushed to the mortuary, only to see the remains of their missing neighbor.
Mukose says that Mutadhuba has been an enterprising man, with dreams of a better future, and he now wants the police to expedite enquiries into the circumstances that caused his death. The Busoga East police spokesperson, Michael Kasadha, confirmed the incident, noting that investigations were underway.
