The police have confirmed the death of two people in Thursday’s accident at the Namboole roundabout along the Northern bypass. 

Michael Kanaura, the Traffic Police Spokesperson, said that a Fuso truck registration number UBD 520H which was carrying maize knocked 13 vehicles and two motorcycles.

According to Kananura,  the driver of the truck who was transporting maize from Nalya to Namboole lost control at the roundabout.

Earlier, there were reports that more than 10 people had died. Kananura said that the police are still establishing the identities of the dead who included a female passenger and another male.

The injured were rushed to Mulago Hospitals for treatment. According to Kananura, the police are hunting for the driver of the Fuso truck.
